Roadside networks often require specific insurance limits and documents before you can accept calls. Insured ASAP helps towing businesses compare coverage and prepare certificates for Agero, HONK, AAA and other roadside or transportation customers.
Share the networks you plan to join and their current insurance instructions. We can review commercial auto, business liability, customer-vehicle coverage and workers’ compensation together.

What insurance do roadside networks require?
Requirements commonly include auto liability, general or garage liability, on-hook coverage, garagekeepers and workers’ compensation. The combination depends on whether you provide roadside service, tow vehicles, operate a storage yard or employ staff.
Use the network’s current written requirements alongside your state’s rules. A customer’s minimum does not replace a higher legal requirement. Limits and endorsements can also vary by program, service type and agreement.
Agero insurance requirements
Agero’s published guidance lists liability requirements ranging from $300,000 to $1 million, with on-hook and garagekeepers requirements ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 for applicable towing and storage services. The specific program determines the required limits.
Agero also addresses workers’ compensation for employees where applicable and additional-insured status on general and auto liability. Send the instructions for your account so your agent can match the certificate to the policy.

Agero Administrative Service Corp
C/O Evident ID, Inc.
8520 Allison Pointe Blvd Ste 223 #52150
Indianapolis, IN 46250-4299 US
HONK insurance requirements
HONK’s public guidance lists general and auto liability limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury, plus $100,000 for property damage, or a $300,000 combined single limit.
Its guidance also lists $50,000 in garagekeepers/on-hook coverage for partners providing towing and storage. Review these figures against the services you offer and any higher state requirements.
HONK says listing it as a certificate holder is optional and provides this address:
HONK Technologies, Inc.
548 Market Street #28677
San Francisco, CA 94104
AAA requirements vary by club
Start with the AAA club that will handle your provider agreement. Each club can have its own coverage and submission requirements.
For example, AAA Club Alliance publishes these minimums:
- General or garage liability and auto liability: $500,000 for towing providers handling up to 600 calls annually; $1 million for more than 600 calls annually.
- Customer-vehicle coverage: $100,000 per occurrence for light-service and towing contractors. Towing providers must have on-hook coverage; facility operations also affect garagekeepers requirements.
- Employees: Workers’ compensation coverage or qualifying exemption evidence, plus applicable employers’ liability limits and a waiver of subrogation.
The chart also requires Club Alliance as an additional insured on the specified liability policies. Auto liability applies even to providers offering only road services.
Review AAA Club Alliance’s complete provider requirements, including insurer qualifications and employers’ liability limits.

Copart towing and transportation
Copart work can involve auction transport, multiple vehicles or storage between trips. Describe your equipment, the vehicles carried and your storage practices when requesting insurance.
Your transportation agreement identifies the required liability, customer-vehicle coverage and certificate details. Have that agreement available so the insurer can evaluate the work accurately. Visit Copart.
Prepare your certificate of insurance
A certificate holder receives evidence of your coverage. Additional-insured status provides the protection described in the policy or endorsement. A network requesting both needs both requirements addressed.
Check the legal business name, required limits, policy dates and recipient instructions. Any requested waiver of subrogation or other endorsement must be supported by the policy. The Texas Department of Insurance explains these certificate rules.
Our tow truck certificate of insurance guide includes a checklist and educational sample. Your agent or insurer will issue the actual proof of coverage.
